I am an English Language teacher living in Tainan, Taiwan and these pages will serve as a record of my thoughts and experiences. I planned to get started on this blog as soon as I arrived in Taiwan, but being the chronic procrastinator that I am, it has taken a little longer to get started than I initially planned. In fact, I am here eight months now.
But here it is, better late than never, and as I write, we are in the middle of a thick and humid summer with a heat that seems to penetrate every pore. I am an Englishman though, and you will never catch me complaining about the tropical climate. After 30ish years of miserable cold drizzly shite UK weather, I am happy to be sweating my balls off a few k's south of the Tropic of Cancer. The conditions are extreme here; winds are typhoons, rains are torrents and heat is a blanket that envelops every aspect of my life.
This blog, as with all others, is concerned with all the things that are important to me and which occupy my mind on a daily basis. My obsessions; weather, books, music, travel, politics. My hatred of 'home'; how terrible the UK has become (I rue the day that I have to step foot upon English soil and, if I had my way, I would never return to that sorry land), and other random meaningless, meaningful, irrelavent, relavent thoughts and ideas on whatever is on my mind. I make no apologies for offensive opinions, cliched observations or poor spelling/grammar.
Please keep in touch with this blog; it will enrich your life.
